Common struggles that people may come to therapy for:
"I'm exhausted from putting on a front each day"
"I'm just surviving rather than living"
"I don't feel truly connected to other people or myself"
"I've always felt different"
"I feel as though I am reliving the past, I should be over it by now"
Therapy Tailored to You
I know it is daunting trying to find someone to help you with your difficulties. Firstly, trying to find the right fit when there seems to be so many different types of therapist and approaches to difficulties out there. Secondly, because it is hard to ask for help, explain how you feel and know what you might need.
Many people I have successfully worked with may feel that they are living life by putting on a front but that underneath they feel disconnected to themselves or others. They may say that they have tried various approaches in the past and nothing has worked, or that they understand it logically but just don't feel it emotionally. The approach I take is to enable you to feel the change that you want to make rather than just know what it is. As a clinical psychologist I offer bespoke psychological interventions that are tailored to you rather than a manualised 'one size fits all' approach. I draw upon evidence based psychological therapies in order to help you to make sense of how and why your difficulties developed, and to establish a way out of the difficulties you are currently experiencing.
Please contact me if you would like to find out more about how I could help you and we can arrange a free 15 minute telephone consultation.
Who Do I Work With?
I work with adults aged 18 years and above who do not have significant risk issues (see below). I specialise in anxiety, shame, self esteem, trauma and confidence building. I do not work with significant risk issues (e.g. significant wish to end life or significant acts to harm self) as this is likely to require significant NHS input. Please see my resources page if you think your difficulties mean you may require more intensive NHS support related to matters of risk.
Please do not use this contact form if you require urgent or emergency assistance. Please contact NHS 111 or 999 as appropriate. For further details of useful contacts in a crisis please see my resources page.
