I invite you to take up my offer of a free 15 minute telephone consultation to discuss your difficulties so that we can determine if my services may be helpful to you or if you may require another service. This is an opportunity to get an initial sense of whether you feel I am the right fit for you too and if you feel comfortable with me. Please complete my contact form and I will get in touch with you to arrange a free 15 minute telephone consultation.
As I have good knowledge of local NHS services and the criteria for referral to such services, I will suggest where you may be eligible for such services for free with the NHS. You are under no obligation to take up my services as part of the telephone consultation.
Please complete my contact form to arrange a 15 minute telephone consultation, to find out more about our services or if you would like to book an appointment.
If after the free 15 min telephone consultation we both feel that you may benefit from my services then we shall arrange a psychological assessment appointment. At present due to COVID-19 I am offering video appointments and some face to face appointments at my clinic in Leicester (please click here for more details). The psychological assessment appointment is an opportunity for us to spend time thinking about your difficulties in more depth. I will guide you as to what may be important for us to focus on and ask you questions. There are no right or wrong answers or trick questions, and you will not be expected to answer anything that you do not feel comfortable with. My aim is to help you to feel comfortable enough to share what is important to you.
At the end of this appointment we will aim to have more of an understanding of your current difficulties, how they are maintained and what, if any, function they may serve. This is called a psychological formulation. We shall also aim to have a sense of what may help you to overcome your difficulties, what approach may be suitable for you, how many sessions we are working towards and what frequency of contact.
You are under no obligation to take up follow up appointments and I understand that you may wish to take some time before you decide if you want to enter into therapy.
For further details about attending remote or in-person appointments please click here.
If you would like to meet for further appointments then we will have a plan that we are working towards and review points to review if you are happy with the service you are receiving or if we need to change anything. Of course, I always welcome feedback as we go too, as good therapy is tailored properly to each person, so your feedback is really helpful to ensure the therapy is meeting your needs.
If at any point you do not wish to continue with appointments you are free to stop, I just ask that if you adhere to the cancellation policy of 48 hours notice. This means that missed appointments or appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours before your appointment start time are charged the full rate for that appointment. Please see Leicestershire Psychology Service Terms and Conditions for further details.
However I may be required to share information with your GP, referrer or medical insurance if appropriate. Please see my Terms and Conditions for further information.
Fees and payment
People may refer themselves to me on a self funding basis which means they will find their own appointments. Others may fund their appointments through a private medical insurance policy. I accept referrals from all major private health insurance companies such as AVIVA and AXA PPP. If I am not registered with your insurance provider then please get in touch and it is likely that I can register with them in order for you to claim your appointment fees. Please see my Terms and Conditions for more information.
Fees for clinical psychology appointments are £120 per hour and negotiated with your private medical insurance provider. However I offer a discounted rate for people who are funding their own sessions which is £100 per hour.
The fee for a one-off (non legal) psychological assessment report is £200 in addition to the fee for the assessment appointment above.
